If you're referred to ophthalmology, we'll invite you in for an assessment. You might have to do a few different tests during your appointment. We’ll go through your options in detail and decide on the best treatment.
If you need surgery this will be arranged at either at the Cumberland Infirmary or West Cumberland Hospital.
Patients that need to stay in hospital because of eye problems are admitted to the wards which are shared with other head and neck specialties.
Clinics are also held at Workington Community Hospital, Penrith Community Hospital,
Keswick Community Hospital, and there are specialist clinics for adults with learning disabilities
