Clinical audit

We complete both national and local clinical audits and publish them in our annual reports. You can read more about clinical audits on the NHS England website.
 

National audits

National audits apply to the services we deliver. It is called the National Clinical Audit and Patient Outcomes Programme (NCAPOP) and it is commissioned and managed on behalf of NHS England by the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP).

The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) publishes a quarterly planner where national clinical audits are measured against (NICE) guidance.
 

Local audits

These relate to trends or incidents identified through:

• risks, complaints and patient experience
• high volume services
• potential issues
• and areas that require  improvement
