My apprenticeship has improved my work skills and confidence to help me apply for, and hopefully get, a full time permanent role within the NHS.
I initially wanted to go to 6th Form but when I went to the taster days I wasn’t interested at all and I knew I didn’t want to stay at school for another 2 years.
I searched for apprenticeships and I saw one from the NHS Jobs website. I thought it would be a great opportunity to get into the NHS so I applied for the role and luckily was offered the job.
A normal day for me is collecting clinic files, making appointments, answering the phone and dealing with emails. In the afternoon I cover reception and work with the patients coming into the department.
I aim to complete my apprenticeship by October and hope this will help me to get a permanent job within the department.
