The centre will have two floors and have a modern, relaxed feel. Vital new equipment will also be installed, including a new linear accelerator (LINAC) radiotherapy machineVideo conferencing technology is also being built into the plan, meaning that some patients could have consultations via a video link.

The building has been design by P+HS Architects, who have designed other cancer centres, including the award-winning Endeavour Unit at Middlesbrough's James Cook Hospital. Our staff have been closely involved in the design, working with the architects to create a layout that works for both staff and patients.
