I'm a paediatrician with 33 years of experience. Before coming to UK in 1994, I was Consultant Paediatrician in India. After moving to the UK I went through a structured training programme and was appointed as a Consultant Paediatrician in 2003.

I led the improvement of Paediatric Epilepsy services at Blackpool Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. In 2013 I was awarded a National Bronze Clinical Excellence Award which was renewed in 2018. I have also served as Regional Adviser of Paediatrics for the North West and Vice President of Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in the past.

I arrived in Cumbria in July 2016 as Associate Medical Director of the children and families care group. Here I've led on the transformation of the Community Paediatrics service where we improved our CQC rating from Inadequate to Good.

In July 2018 I took on the additional responsibility of managing the acute Paediatrics service and the Maternity service. In August 2019 I was appointed as Associate Medical Director of the Integrated Care Group.

I enjoy making the health system safer for patients and improving people's access to our health services.

Collaboration, because collaboration is key when making improvements to quality of service and patient safety. However, to collaborate effectively you have to live up to the other values of ambition, kindness and respect.
