Cumberland Infirmary

Gastroenterology

  • hepatology
  • inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)

I qualified at Newcastle University in 1980 and undertook additional training and research in Leeds, before taking up my consultant post at the Cumberland Infirmary in 1992.

I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London and Edinburgh. I have worked in Cumbria as a Gastroenterologist developing services locally since my appointment and was awarded Honorary Senior Lecturer status by the University of Newcastle.

I have also contributed to the acute medical service and until recently acted as Associate Medical Director for Emergency Care and Medicine.

I feel honoured to be part of the local community and enjoy providing care to our patients. I'm passionate about improving and developing services locally.

Kindness. It's what our profession is all about.
