Kentwood Clinic is based inside the Gillinggate Centre. It can be accessed by road and public transport. If you’re on a low income you may be eligible for help with travel costs.

By road

From the A6 north:
  • follow the A6 into Kendal
  • at the train station roundabout follow signs for the town centre
  • after crossing the river turn left onto the Aynam Road A65
  • turn right onto Lound Road and right again towards the town centre
  • turn left onto Gillinggate
  • the Gillinggate Centre is on the left
     
From the A591/A6:
  • exit the A591 at the A6 Kendal South slip road
  • at the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Milnthorpe Road A6
  • stay on the A6 for 1.5 miles
  • turn left onto Gillinggate
  • the Gillinggate Centre is on the left
     
From the A684:
  • follow the A684 into Kendal
  • turn left onto Park Side Road following signs for Kendal (South)
  • turn right onto Lound Road following signs for the town centre
  • after crossing the river turn right onto Kirkland A6
  • turn left onto Gillinggate
  • the Gillinggate Centre is on the left
     

By bus

Western Dales and Stagecoach run buses from the surrounding area to Highgate. Use the Stagecoach website to plan your journey.
 

By train

If you’re arriving by train into Oxenholme, you can catch the 41 bus from outside the station to Highgate. The Gillinggate Centre is a 2 minute walk from there. There’s also a taxi rank in front of the station. Walking from the train station to Kentwood Clinic takes 35 minutes.
