Brampton War Memorial Hospital can be accessed by road and public transport. If you’re on a low income you may be eligible for help with travel costs.

By road

From the A689:
  • follow the A689 towards Hexham and Newcastle
  • at Brampton roundabout take the second exit onto A69
  • after 1.5 miles turn right onto B6413 Station Road
  • after half a mile turn left onto Tree Road
  • at the junction turn left onto Tarn Road and the hospital is on your left
     
From the A69 east:
  • follow the A69 Brampton Bypass towards Carlisle
  • turn right onto the B6413 towards Castle Carrock
  • after half a mile turn left onto Tree Road
  • at the junction turn left onto Tarn Road and the hospital is on your left
     

By bus

There are 3 companies that run buses from the surrounding area to Brampton. Stagecoach, Border Rambler and Telfords. You can check their websites for timetables and journey planners. Brampton War Memorial Hospital is a 10 minute walk from the town centre.
 

By train

Northern Rail run trains to Brampton from Carlisle and Haltwhistle. Use the Northern Rail website to plan your journey. From there you can take a taxi but advance booking is essential. Visit traintaxi.co.uk to find a local cab service.
 

By Patient Transport Service

This service helps eligible patients get to and from hospital appointments. It’s provided by the North West Ambulance Service. To find out if you’re eligible, contact the local booking centre on 01228 403031.
